Rules and regulations:

Car Regulations:

1. Car setup:

1.1 Regulation car tuning:

All cars must adhere to the specific tuning regulations set out by series organizer. All cars will be spec checked before a race to make sure all cars involved are fair and within the regulations.

1.2 All tires must be purchased:

CORE events require all tires to be purchased that are necessary for the regulations of the event. I.e. the full set of racing tires as well as all wet tires.

Racing Rules:

2. Collisions:

2.1 Accident:

A situation that results in contact in which the instigating driver loses control of their vehicle in a manner that makes avoiding the proceeding contact beyond reasonable expectation.

2.2 Racing incident:

A situation where contact occurs through the action (or inaction) of at least one of the drivers involved, while maintaining in clear control of their vehicle, in which no significant damage or delay occurs to those not baring due responsibility.

2.3 Avoidable contact [+90]:

A situation where a vehicle is damaged or delayed through the controlled actions, intentional or otherwise, of another driver, in which responsibility for the situation occurring can be clearly defined.

If a collision is deemed as Avoidable contact, penalties will be given to the parties responsible even if they allow the other cars to re-pass after.

[90 second penalty is derived from the avoidable contact stop and hold 60 seconds plus pit speed limit]

2.4 Wet Weather Racing:

Wet weather can create extenuating circumstances where contact can be either over looked or disregarded, this will be down to the steward’s digression to decide on the type of incident.

3.1 Blue Flags [+10]:

A car that is being pursued by a car that is about to go a lap ahead is within their rights to drive their line and attempt to stay on the lead lap and is in no way expected to pull aside to allow the pursuer to pass. However, if the pursuing car attempts to make a pass and is within 2 cars length, they must not execute a defensive maneuver as they could legally do if they were fighting for position; nor are they allowed to attempt as re-pass that will overly hinder the lapping car’s pace. If a car has gone a lap down due to damage and is recovering and noticeably catching cars that are laps ahead, it is allowed to pass them, however the leading cars are allowed to drive defensively if they choose to do so.

3.2 Rejoin Blocking [+30]:

If a car is moving at significantly lower than racing speed such as rejoining the track (from either the pit lane or from an accident), or suffering from damage and deliberately moves to prevent another car from passing them they will receive a penalty.

3.3 Track Limits:

As a generalization, track limits are defined by the outside edge of the white line on the circuit, however they also include the red and white curbing on apexes and exits; exceptions to this rule will be included in the driver’s briefing. A car must keep two wheels within the track limits at all times. If all four wheels are no longer within the track limits then the driver will be required to lift off until the have returned to the track with all four wheels.

3.4 Overtaking competitors cars:

Passing car must be up along side the defending car [The nose of the passing car must be ahead of the rear wheel of the defending car], if the defending car has the space to take the apex then they have full right to do so if the nose of the passing car is no further than the rear wheel.

3.5 One defensive move:

Cars are allowed to make one defensive move per car. A car is allowed to make a defensive move if it is safe to do so, if an incident happens due to an aggressive move which forces the other car out of track limits or other incidents, then it becomes a driving standards issue and a penalty may be implemented.

3.6 Lag:

Treated as a component failure and there for will be disregarded by the stewards for any kind of penalty.

4. Pit lane procedure:

4.1 The merger line is defined by the line that splits the track and pits:

Entering and exiting the pit lane there is no over taking in or out of the pits, If there is a slower car then the car behind will have to wait until the end of the pit lane to over take.

4.2 Pit Line [Pit In] [+30]:

Crossing the merger line will instantly give a 30 seconds penalty [Time according to average drive through penalty] The merger line may be extended by the race organizers, and will be notified in the drivers brief a week before race day, and also said verbally or typed before the race.

4.3 Pit Line Speed Limit [Pit In] [+30]:

A pit line speed limit may be implemented at certain circuits that will require the cars to slow down to 60 MPH/100KPH, this will be noted in the drivers brief the week before and pictures will be provided with the line of speed limit. If a car is seen to have speeded after this line then a [+30]

4.4 Pit Line [Pit out] [+30]:

Crossing the merger line will instantly give a 30 seconds penalty [Time according to average drive through penalty] The merger line may be extended by the race organizers, and will be notified in the drivers brief a week before race day, and also said verbally or typed before the race.

5.Start procedure:

5.1 Rolling:

Cars on a rolling start must pace at 80MPH/128KPH top speed around the track, the leading car must maintain a constant speed only slowing down for slower corners which can not be taken safely at 80MPH/128KPH. The 80MPH/128KPH will continue the full warm up lap until the final turn or specified by race organizer where all cars will form up in double file at 50MHP/80KPH.

5.2 Gapping on warm up:

Cars must retain a 2-3 car gap between them selves and the car in front. While on the warm up the odd cars must warm up on the left hand side of the track and the evens must warm up on the right, making a 4-6 car gap between all cars on the grid.

5.3 Formation:

All cars must form up with odds on the left and evens on the right.

5.4 Standing:

On standing starts all races will be held with ‘False start check’

6. Driving standards:

6.1 Weaving:

Changing direction repeatedly and deliberately to hinder another car will be viewed as dangerous driving and a penalty may apply.

6.2 Blocking [+10]:

If a driver fails to provide racing room (the width of the passing car) to a car that has committed to a passing move, or otherwise forces them from the track during an overtake a penalty will be given to the responsible party even if they allow the other driver to pass afterwards.

6.3 Driving with damage:

A car driving with damage must stay on the side of the track where the pit lane is. If the car has significant damage then a much slower pace is required to get back to the pits safely.

7. Disconnections:

7.1 Single disconnect:

A single disconnect is viewed as a mechanical failure and the race will not be stopped for a restart.

7.2 Qualifying disconnection:

If a driver disconnects during qualifying then they will be allowed to rejoin the race, starting at the back of the grid.

7.3 Mass disconnect:

If 3 or more drivers disconnect within 10 seconds then a red flag will be called and the race will restarted once all drivers have returned. Restart procedure will be implemented.

If more than 70% of the race distance has been covered at the time of the mass disconnect, the race will be considered completed with full points. If the race over-runs by 30 minutes and 70% distance has not been completed, a steward will call chequered flag. The race will then be taken from the most recent time the leader crossed the finish line and half points will be awarded.

8. Behavior: On track and off track:

8.1 Text Box:

During race conditions the use of text box is strictly prohibited and if any incident is caused due to the reaction to the use of the text box then a penalty may apply.

8.2 Headset:

During race conditions the use of headset is strictly prohibited and if any incident is caused due to the reaction to the use of the headset then a penalty may apply.

8.3 Abuse of other drivers:

If a driver is seen to abuse another driver then CORE hold the right to remove the driver from any CORE events. It is not accepted behavior and will not be tolerated.

8.4 Abuse of stewards:

If a driver is seen to abuse a steward over an incident, then CORE hold the right to remove the driver from any CORE events. It is not accepted behavior and will not be tolerated.

9.Multi Lobby rules:

9.1 Running as a reserve driver:

If a driver is called up as a reserve then that driver is expected to drive for the team they are enlisted. If they have a team in the same lobby and they are seen to be helping their own team then it will be viewed as unsportsmanlike and a possible disqualification will be applied.

9.2 Purposely interrupting a class battle with a non-class car:

In multi class racing there will be more than on speed differential between cars. If a faster class car is seen to purposely impede, hinder or change the outcome of a race then it will be instantly disqualified and the guilty party will receive a driving standards warning.

9.3 Slower class rights for the road:

If there is a multi class situation then the slower class car is allowed to hold their line and the faster car is required to find the way around. The slower car Must stay on the racing line and not move out the way of the faster car.

9.4 Rolling start Class Split:

On a rolling start in multi class racing, the slower class are required to form up behind the faster class with a gap of 4 cars. They will form up as if they are their own grid, odds on the left and evens on the right.

10.Driving standards warning:

10.1 Driving standards warning:

Driving standard warnings can be given and if a driver receives 3 warnings then a race suspension will be applied. If they receive another after the suspension then they will be removed from the series.
